ROLE

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Dispatcher to join our Transport team.  One of three container dispatchers, you will be responsible for scheduling the pickup and delivery of containers throughout Auckland for our fleet of 16 container trucks.  Our fleet operates day and night shifts on weekdays, and day shift on weekends.

With a new TMS software being implemented over the next few months, there may be changes to shift patterns, however the current shift is 6.00am to 5.30pm, five days per week, with one of those days falling on the weekend. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Co-ordinate the delivery of FCL containers to clients site
• Arrange the dehire of empty containers from clients
• Monitor outstanding containers to avoid demurrage charges
• Resolve customer queries promptly
• Ensure drivers adhere to all transport related legislation

YOU WILL NEED

• Freight industry experience, with container transport and handling knowledge an advantage
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Familiar with a Transport Management System
• Good geographical knowledge of the Auckland metro region
• Understanding of Port of Auckland requirements would be an advantage
