KPMG's Risk and Regulatory Consulting team proactively helps clients to deliver their strategic objectives whilst reducing reputational, operational, financial and other risks. We are experienced in managing diverse issues including regulatory compliance, risk and compliance, risk frameworks, capital efficiency, corporate governance, dispute resolution and much more.

The team offers the opportunity to work with a talented group of colleagues with a breadth of experience and a range of subject matter expertise.  The team bring creative solutions to our client’s most critical risk challenges and transformational projects at a time of unprecedented focus on the risk agenda in the financial services industry in New Zealand and globally. 

FRM provides the following specialist advice:

• Assessment and implementation of IAS 39, IFRS 7 and practical advice on financial instrument accounting issues in general
• Support through KPMG audit teams in performing treasury related audits
• Treasury best practice reviews
• Internal audit assessments of Treasury functions and activities
• Analysis of reporting and performance measurement (including benchmarking)
• Treasury re-organisation and re-structuring (including process redesign)
• Risk identification - foreign exchange rates, interest rates and commodity prices
• Financial instrument valuations
• Policy design and implementation including controls, transaction processing, measurement and reporting
• Assessments of the impact of emerging issues on borrowing, investment or hedging activities
• Regulatory compliance assessments

Be Interested:

Be Exceptional:

• Provide clear, accurate advice, support and/or project management assistance to clients on the business, accounting and regulatory impacts of new initiatives and changes in the risk, economic and banking environment
• Manage small engagements that meet client timelines, budget and outcome requirements
• Identify unrealistic client expectations and seek assistance to manage these
• Apply an awareness and understanding of the general business and economic environments in undertaking engagements
• Produce clear and well-presented information / reports
• Develop and maintain client relationships to build up professional network.

Be KPMG:

• Relevant tertiary degree with 3+ years’ experience from a professional services firm, financial services organisation or a large corporate perhaps encompassing some Audit or Risk experience
• CPA/CA qualification
• Financial services experience and an understanding of financial risk and financial products
• Demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate with a range of clients
• A strong attention to detail, numerical aptitude and the ability to see issues from a wider perspective
• A high level of self-motivation, energy and drive
• Collaborative and inclusive with an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
