Our team

Our International Trade Banking Services team are a specialist centre, providing advice and solution on a full suite of international products. Our Trade Specialist Team provides trade document checking and processing services for trade documentation that has been insourced to BNZ. As an Associate - International Trade you will be responsible for ensuring the timely , efficient turnaround of Export Trade Letter of Credit documentation that has been insourced to us, to ensure we meet agreed Service Level Agreements.

About the role

You will be part of a great team who are involved in a dynamic and specialised area of BNZ. Excellent starting salary, benefits with career progression opportunities in to our wider business.

In this role you'll be kept busy with a variety of tasks including:

  • providing excellent customer service, assisting customers in the mitigation of the risks involved in International trade
  • ensuring timely and accurate turnaround of international trade requests in high volume environment
  • working collaboratively with your team and internal customers (such as Business Partners) to ensure consistent high performance in achieving delivery outcomes across the department
  • authorising and processing of Trade Transactions and documentation in accordance with approved DCA's
  • keeping a continuous improvement focus.

About you:

  • A positive team player who consistently demonstrates the willingness to own the customer experience
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships internally and externally
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Previous International Trade experience and knowledge of UCP 600 and ISBP , along with familiarity with import and export trade documentation would be beneficial
  • Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) qualification
  • Previous international Import and Export trade document checking experience is desirable, we are also interested in hearing from you if you have a strong customer services background

Hours of work

Hours of work are between 10:30am to 7:30pm with some flexibility needed in peak times. You will be required to work some New Zealand statutory holidays.
