New World Porirua offers the opportunity for an experienced Butcher to join a newly led and loyal team. We are looking for an applicant that can take charge and work closely with the Butchery Manager providing advice and expertise. The Butchery department aims for growth on a daily basis, if you are interested in contributing to this growth and success please continue reading. The Job: You will work alongside qualified and apprentice butchers to fulfil the requirements and targets of a busy Butchery. You will be responsible for ensuring our quality cuts of meat are prepared to the highest standard and that each product fulfils our customer’s demands and expectations. You will be confident in all aspects of the butchery trade and present your best work every time. This position involves early starts and late finishes as per the demands of the supermarket industry. The Requirements: You must hold relevant qualifications in Butchery Retailing and Meat Processing or have gained the necessary skills through work experience. You must be able to demonstrate that you have been responsible for all aspects found in the operation of a Butchery, including supervising others. You must be a good communicator, be highly reliable and be confident in your customer service skills. You must be flexible to the demands of a busy department and be prepared to go the extra mile for your team. The Hours: The position available is Full-time with hours and remuneration to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Please state your availability when applying.
