Are you passionate about coffee and tea? We are a global company responsible for local and international brands such as Moccona, L’OR, Jeds, Hummingbird, Gravity, Bell Tea, Ti Ora. Due to growth and increasing credibility of our customer and category insights as integral to our business strategy, we have created an exciting opportunity for a Category Specialist. Based in our newly refurbished Auckland Head Office in East Tamaki, you will be an important member of the Category Team, providing support to the business through on time every day better information. 

Reporting to the Coffee Category Manger, with a dominant focus on the Coffee category, you will work collaboratively with members of the Sales and Marketing teams to analyse and optimise market performance.  This will involve assisting in identifying customer, brand and shopper insights using both scan/shopper data and shopper research.  The role will also involve ongoing support in shelf management, Coffee NPD projects, pricing & promotional analysis & category reviews.

In order to be successful, you will have demonstrated the following: 

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a category, marketing or sales role within FMCG
  • A degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce or relevant field
  • An inquisitive nature with a love of facts and figures 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong MS Office skills (particularly in Excel and PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to organise and prioritise according to business criticality
  • Outstanding communication skills including presentation skills and ability to influence 
  • Understanding of and a desire to build a career in FMCG
