Our client has built their business with a community focus at front of mind.  As a re-seller of fuel products they have ensured the ‘mum and dad’ operated petrol stations of New Zealand have the opportunity to keep up and compete with the major, big name corporates. In achieving this our client has not only been able to keep fuel flowing into numerous local communities around the country, it has also been able to offer small business owners a genuine alternative.

The business is 100% kiwi owned and operated and prides itself in being innovative, agile and tech savvy.  It has invested in its in-house technology and is constantly looking for ways to improve and develop its systems and processes in both the head office and its extensive retail network of over 125 petrol stations around the country.

An opportunity has now arisen for an energetic and proactive individual to join the head office team (based in Auckland) to assist the Marketing Manager.  This person’s focus will be on both the head office itself and the national network of petrol stations.

This role requires extensive communication and interaction with company staff and operators (i.e. both inside head office and around the network), together with dealings with third party suppliers, third party service providers and, upon occasion, professional advisors. 

 The Role:

Working closely with the Marketing Manager you will play a key role in implementing campaigns and will contribute to communications content, strategy and development.  While, the main focus of this role is on all things marketing, in order to be successful you will need to build strong relationships inside head office, around the retail network and with third party suppliers.

Key tasks:

  • Verbal and written communications – across the business and with external suppliers and end customers.
  • Building relationships and gaining “buy-in” – particularly with retail network operator, but also within head office and among key third-party suppliers.
  • General marketing support – both creative and administrative.

You:

The successful applicant will be someone who enjoys interacting with people at all levels of the business and who is an excellent communicator with a clear command of English both orally and in writing.

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • A marketing qualification and / or relevant experience.
  • Experience in running social media campaigns.
  • Writing content – blogs and newsletters.
  • Graphic design / desktop publishing and finishing.
  • Website maintenance.
  • Market analysis.

This role has a fantastic mix of general marketing tasks with the focus largely being on Marcomms.  You will get to feed your creative and writing skills and master your influencing skills in one role!  All with a great team, modern offices and a 100% kiwi owned and operated company
