Eagle Ridge is nestled in the hills above Tauranga, with breath-taking panoramic views of Mount Maunganui and the Bay of Plenty, offering the finest in wedding, function and event facilities, as well as luxury lodge accommodation.
The Wedding & Event Manager is a key role and a highly appealing opportunity for the right person to join popular Bay of Plenty special event venue Eagle Ridge. This role is a full-time position (12-month maternity leave cover), with approximate start date of early-mid September 2018 but negotiable for the right candidate.
Playing a fundamental role in the success of the business, responsibilities include:
- Managing the successful delivery of weddings & events from conception through to completion with support from our part-time and casual operational and duty management team
- Provide quality leadership to lead the Eagle Ridge team to ensure the seamless delivery of weddings & events
- Generate and manage leads to turn them into confirmed bookings to grow the business and revenue
- Present, promote and sell our venues to existing and prospective customers
- Establish, develop and maintain positive customer relationships, as well as with stakeholders and industry connections
- Working with partners and suppliers to support marketing and communications strategy
- Managing our social media strategy
Who we’re looking for:
- A high level of experience in the events industry, ideally a minimum of 5 years operational and/or business development experience
- Hospitality orientated with a high level of customer service
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office with robust IT skills for updating our website and social media accounts
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to build positive professional relationships with clients
- Think on your feet, ability to solve problems with creativity and minimal disruption
- The capacity to handle pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organisation
