Our fleet consists of prime movers, tipper trailers, dump trucks, water trucks, D9N dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, service modules and light vehicles. The Role:
Phillips Earthmoving have current requirements for experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Fitters who are interested in living and working in the Barkly Region of the Northern Territory. This is a 12 month contract, full time Monday to Friday position (6am – 6pm) with some weekend work required. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the role is based in our fully equipped workshop with some off-site work as required. Great benefits include an attractive remuneration package and superannuation.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Duties:
- Responsible for servicing, preventative maintenance and major repairs of heavy earthmoving equipment.
- Rebuilding diesel engines including but not limited to Caterpillar, Detroit and Volvo.
- Rebuilding dozers including track systems, excavators and loaders.
- Utilise our maintenance software to document service reports and preventative maintenance schedules.
Skills and experience
To be successful in obtaining this role you must be results driven, with a "can do" attitude and a high standard of work ethic. Successful candidates will be subject to drug & alcohol testing as part of their employment conditions. Applicants will need to meet the following criteria:
- Australian recognised Heavy Diesel Fitter / Mechanic Trade Certificate
- Strong technical and problem-solving ability.
- Experience with American and European drive line trucks.
- Experience with Hydraulic Side Tippers with BPW axles and quad axle floats.
- Post trade experience in the Mining or Heavy Earthmoving industry.
- Strong communication skills.
- HR or MR licence.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Current national police clearance
Desirable
- A Multi-Combination (MC) license.
- Basic welding.
- Auto electrician and auto air-conditioning experience.
