Urban Maintenance Systems Pty Ltd (UMS) is a specialist provider of facilities maintenance services to Government, Local Government and Private Sector organisations throughout Australia, with more than twenty years' experience.

Due to growth we have the opportunity for three full time Infrastructure Maintenance Workers - Reactive to join our team, working on a high profile contract based from our Head Office in Notting HIll. This role will require a willingness to travel as the successful candidate be servicing all areas of Melbourne.

The Infrastructure Maintenance Worker is responsible for undertaking scheduled and reactive maintenance on bus stops to a high standard and to the contract requirements.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Experienced infrastructure worker doing reactive maintenance repairs
  • Conducting condition audits on bus stop infrastructure
  • Recording GPS data
  • Conducting Risk assessments
  • Minor maintenance and repair of street signage and roadside infrastructure
  • Communicating with the Account Manager, Maintenance Works Manager, Team Leader and Administration team
  • Reporting of works completed using a smart phone / Tablet PC
  • Interacting with customers and members of the public

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry
  • Proficient with using a computer/smartphone/ipad
  • Previous experience undertaking infrastructure reactive maintenance work and site audits
  • Previous experience in risk assessments
  • General handyman skills
  • Experience with using hand and power tools
  • A high quality customer service focus and interpersonal skills
  • Proven history of working autonomously
  • Punctuality and excellent presentation
  • Excellent work ethic and highly motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Licence in Control and Implement Traffic Management Plans, including Stop/Slow Bat
  • Manual Driver's Licence
  • Strong Safety, Environment and Quality focus

As part of the recruitment process candidates will need to be available to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical.

This role will require the successful candidates to travel to either the South and Eastern Suburbs or Melbourne or the North and Western Suburbs of Melbourne. There will be a requirement to travel to Notting Hill site at least 2-3 times per week. A fully maintained company vehicle will be provided.
