Ashley & Martin, Australia’s leading Medical Hair Institute, have an amazing opportunity for a Fully Qualified Hairdresser to join our friendly and welcoming team! This is an exciting role which provides a great work balance for you!

Based in our South Melbourne Clinic, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to have a varied work environment with the benefit of hairdressing and administration/reception work incorporated into the role.  This position involves all aspects of hairdressing related tasks for Hair Systems and full hair system training will be provided to enhance your hairdressing skills. 

Hours: Full time. 76 hour fortnight (on a roster basis).

Rostered finish times between 5pm and 7pm on weekdays, hours of 8.30am – 12.30pm every second Saturday.

• Extensive hair system training will be provided to the successful qualified applicant to support their current hairdressing skills
• Excellent Remuneration package: The remuneration will be in line with qualified hairdresser rates dependent on level of qualification plus target bonus, super and 5% commission on confirmed new clients, 10% for existing client renewals.  Package is expected to exceed $70,000 per year.

Essential Attributes:

• You will be a fully Qualified Hairdresser with colour matching experience
• Have excellent communication skills with some administration experience and computer knowledge and be a well presented multi-tasker who enjoys dealing directly with our valued clients.
• Administration and reception work is a large part of this role and the successful candidate will also be expected to provide ad hoc cover for our other Victoria clinics which are located in Melbourne CBD, Gladstone Park & Dandenong.
• Prior experience with hair systems is an advantage but not essential
• Confident customer service manner and competent computer skills,
• Prior administration or customer service experience,
• Ability to learn,
• Commitment to confidentiality, and
• Flexibility.

The position involves the following duties:

• All aspects of Hair system hairdressing (extensive training will be provided),
• Customising templates to suit individual clients,
• Clean & maintain the appearance of the clinic,
• General reception duties,
• Data entry,
• Create and maintain customer records,
• Process transactions/payments in POS & through EFTPOS,
• Assist in the preparation of reports for Head Office, and
• Assist with the completion of month end reconciliations, stocktakes.
