Our Opportunity

As part of Thales Australia, Australian Munitions is the largest supplier of explosive ordnance to the Australian Defence Force, with a successful track record delivering ammunition, propellants, explosives and related services including acid production and industrial waste treatment to Defence and commercial markets.

The Laboratory at Mulwala is responsible for the quality control and testing of the propellant and high explosives produced at the site. The Technical Assistant performs routine testing and analysis on raw materials and products to the required specifications.

Responsibilities

• Identifying sample types, preparation and carrying out analysis and testing
• Prepare standard solutions; perform routine calibrations and standardization’s
• Record raw data and results to ISO 17025 standards
• Maintain records and inventories of chemicals, glassware, and other
• Use the Laboratory computer system for data entry and retrieval

About You

• Minimum year 12 in Chemistry or equivalent
• Laboratory calibrations and standardisation procedures
• Experience with Laboratory quality control techniques
• Ability to use MS suite of programs and outlook
• Strong time management capability being able to prioritise your workload effectively

Special Requirements

The preferred candidate will also need to undergo a pre-employment medical and police check.
