The Role:
As a Precision Assembler, you will be a part of a team that assembles miniature mechanical, electronic and optical components in accordance with manufacturing and quality assurance procedures, typically performed within a Clean Room dust free environment. You will also be required to perform various other tasks according to training and department needs.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, align, fit and assemble mechanical and optical components into completed sub-assemblies for miniature Confocal Microscopes, using jigs, fixtures and measuring instruments.
- Inspect and Test for visual/functional performance of components and completed assemblies using established procedures and test protocols.
- Read and interpret technical specifications and related documents that define methods and sequence of operations.
- Performing rework, repair or service tasks as required.
- Maintain clean, orderly and safe workplace.
Required Experiences and Qualifications:
- Ability to follow written work instructions is required.
- Ability to perform fine work under high magnification for extended periods of time is Mandatory.
- Mechanical aptitude with a high degree of dexterity, meticulous attention to detail and patience are required.
- Electronics assembly, hand soldering and test experience is preferred.
- Experience working with optical components is preferred.
- Experience working under a quality system (eg: ISO9000) preferred.
- Ability to function in a flexible team environment with and without supervision.
