About Q-Gen

Q-Gen Cell Therapeutics is a fully integrated facility for translational research within QIMR Berghofer providing GMP manufacturing facilities for translating QIMR Berghofer's clinical research to the bedside.

Capitalising on the expertise of QIMR Berghofer investigators, Q-Gen Cell Therapeutics has a solid track record in adoptive T cell therapies for Phase I and Phase II clinical trials.

Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is the home to more than 600 scientists, students and support staff.


About the Role

The GMP Production Officer position is a full time, fixed term contract role based in Herston, Brisbane reporting to the Production Manager. However, on a day-to-day basis you will work as part of a team and will be under the direction of the Production Leader.

In this role you will Contribute to the effective, efficient and safe manufacture of GMP grade cell therapy products at Q-Gen Cell Therapeutics by undertaking production activities.


This role will be responsible for the following:

• Undertake production activities as required including aseptic production of cell therapies, in process environmental monitoring, cleaning of clean rooms, consumables and stock management and sterilisation of consumables;
• Maintain documentation consistent with Q-Gen quality policies, including accurate and timely completion of all relevant records;
• Contribute to process improvements, including the review of Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Forms;
• Assist in the validation of production equipment.

Selection Criteria:

To be considered for this position please submit an application addressing the following selection criteria:

• A Diploma or Degree in Science (Life Science, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent);
• Experience and high level skills in GMP production and/or cell culture in a cell therapy, medical laboratory (e.g. stem cell or transplantation testing), blood services, pathology laboratory, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or similar setting;
• Experience in a GMP facility is essential;
• Well developed communication skills and the ability to work well in a small team in a demanding environment;
• Knowledge of contamination control procedures and aseptic techniques an advantage;
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks in a precise and consistent manner;
• High level organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines;
• Demonstrated initiative and the flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements.
