About the role
The Fire Assayer, who will be located in Wingfield, South Australia, will work as part of a team to provide quality service to clients processing mineral samples using Fire Assay techniques and other sample preparation.
Duties
The primary tasks and responsibilities of the roles include, but are not limited to:
- Weigh samples based on mineralogy,
- Acid test work on all Fire Assay samples,
- Fuse and Cupel samples
- Prepare Cupels
- Handle, modify and apply various flux reagents
- Lead and Prill collection
- Identify and rectify poor fusions in routine situations
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and plant
- Other duties as required including but not limited to Sample preparation.
Role requirements
The position requires the successful candidate to:
- Have previous experience working with fire assay techniques.
- Have a demonstrable knowledge of minerology.
- Have a demonstrable knowledge or reagents.
- Have good communication skills
- Be able to work in a team, as well as individually as required.
- Be physically fit.
- Be able to work a rotating shift roster.
