Memjet develops print engines and printing technology for commercial, wide format, labels and desktop printing markets. The successful candidate will be working within a highly experienced and skilled team, assisting in the development of ink delivery and printhead maintenance systems for Memjet printers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Synthesize and understand project and product needs;
- Implement prototype and proof of concept systems;
- Design and execute experiments, research the fundamental properties of the systems being developed;
- Analyse results, draw conclusions and write reports to guide product development;
- Integrate closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising Mechanical, Software, Electrical and Ink & Materials to leverage domain expertise directly applicable to design and verification activities.
Ideally you will have an engineering or science background and experience in the development of complex systems. A practical understanding of (micro) fluidics (such things as bubble behaviour, resonances, dehydration) and mechanical systems (pumps and motor drives, pressure transients) would be extremely helpful.
Further Experience and Skills:
- Experience with design of high-speed inkjet printing systems preferred;
- Experience working within an R&D environment;
- Ability to quickly comprehend key aspects in new areas of technology;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work in a team environment amongst all levels of the organisation;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to prepare and deliver high quality technical reports and presentations;
- Organised and able to meet deadlines.
Education Essential:
- Degree in Engineering or Science related field
