About the business
An exciting opportunity has presented for a Commercial Lawyer to join a small but growing Legal Practice based in Essendon.
This is a new position and you will focus on supporting and representing clients on all the legal aspects of general commercial, franchising and leasing law.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Principal of the Practice, the position responsibilities include:
- Providing excellent client service
- Successfully running and managing matters
- Providing accurate, timely, legal advice
- Instructing and managing external advisors
- Participating in relevant client marketing activities
- Working as part of a team to provide the most appropriate solution to meet the needs and goals of the client and business
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial contracts & documents
About the Candidate
A proactive, friendly individual who can work in a team is essential for this role. You must have excellent legal acumen, communication skills, time management skills as well as a strong commitment to learning. To be successful, you will require:
- A Bachelor of Law and current practicing certificate
- 3+ years Commercial Law experience
- Demonstrated experience in handling matters across a broad range of laws impacting business and people in business
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Ability to deliver to timelines
- Ability to build positive relationships
- Manage competing priorities and a large number of files
- Experience with Microsoft software (Word & Excel), Outlook and LEAP
