The role

The national Environment and Planning team consists of a number highly regarded partners providing the full range of environment and planning expertise across both the public and private sectors.
 
The Sydney Environment and Planning group is a growing, successful practice and a close and supportive team - you will work closely with a Partner and Special counsel who are committed to ensuring you develop your skills and experience.

The role will see you handle the full gamut of environment and planning matters including: 

• Strategic planning and development advice; 
• Section 94 contributions and planning agreements
• Pollution and licensing, including enforcement and litigation;
• Biodiversity protection;
• Native vegetation and natural resource management; 
• Contaminated land management and remediation; 
• Land and Environment Court litigation;
• Planning and environmental due diligence.

The Sydney Environment and Planning group act for a large number of high profile government clients in addition to developers and private sector clients.


Your skills and experience
 
Ideally you will have 2-4 years of post-admission experience in a broad Environment and Planning practice including a solid understanding of the law in this practice area, strong drafting skills, experience in litigation (in particular, Class 1 and Class 4 matters in the Land and Environment Court) and an eye for detail.
