Internal Account Manager – General Insurance
 

For the past 25 years, McKenzie Ross have delivered expert insurance and risk management advice to a broad client base across Australia.

We are seeking a strong, well-rounded General Insurance Broker to join our Melbourne team to service, build and grow a portfolio of SME commercial clients.  Your primary focus will be managing relationships within an existing portfolio of clients, underwriters and service providers. You will also work with the existing portfolio to identify new opportunities for sales and growth.
 

IDEAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Technical Skills

  • At least 3-5 years' insurance experience with Insurance Broking experience preferred and Tier 1 is a must.
     
  • A solid understanding of general insurance lines relevant to such a portfolio including Business Package, ISR, Liability, Mobile Plant & Equipment, Commercial Motor, Management Liability, Cyber and Professional Indemnity plus also be comfortable using Sunrise.
     
  • An eye for detail, adept at reviewing insurance programs against clients' changing profiles and working to understand and identify uninsured risks and providing solutions to address them.
     
  • A broad understanding of relevant industrial segments including retail, construction, property owners, manufacturing, motor & marine trades and professional services.

Soft Skills

  • Refined and confident with excellent communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills.
     
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
     
  • Comfortable engaging with senior management, with both customers and suppliers, in person and over the phone.
     
  • Good at building rapport and developing relationships with both clients and underwriters both over the phone and in person.
     
  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage your own workload independently and also to be able to work within a team.
