About the Opportunity

This is a central role within a specialist Group Life product team, with responsibilities for delivering market leading, profitable products (including services) and support for TAL's Group Life clients comprising Industry Funds, Master Trusts and Corporates.

This role has overall responsibility for product portfolio management and development for a range of clients, applying their knowledge of the product lifecycle, analytical and problem-solving skills and commercial judgment to support the industry-leading TAL Group Life Division.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Active product management plans/strategies are in place for a product portfolio to ensure profitability including:
  • Implementing strategies for management of the business;
  • Creating new processes to enhance the product
• Defining, developing and maintaining up-to-date product documentation for Group Life and Group Salary Continuance including for tenders, proposals, policy documents, service level agreements and other required disclosure material
• Understanding and managing complex contracts and including; drafting, sign-off and execution
• Tracking and reporting on Product approved exceptions/concessions for the client portfolio
• Implementing Product enhancement/upgrade/changes on a regular basis
• Working on other projects and opportunities as required by the Head of Product
• Representing Product on internal projects/forums
• Influencing Key Account Team members and leaders
• Thought leadership in insurance outside of the team
• Creating marketing/technical material

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Knowledge of life insurance product, with experience in interpreting, reviewing and devising detailed terms and conditions plus an understanding of pricing methodologies.
• Outstanding analytical skills and methodologies
• Excellent time management, organisational and presentation skills
• Knowledge of compliance and other legislative requirements
• Excellent attention to detail
• Product development and new opportunity assessment experience within the financial services industry.
• Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, business and /or related disciplines.
• Skilled at writing technical documentation with in-depth knowledge of MS Office suite
• Client relationship, negotiation and influencing skills (desired)
• Knowledge of project management theory (desired)
