THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Team leader, this mail purpose of this role is to provide early, timely and personal service to injured workers and employers by managing a portfolio of claims from 0-65 weeks old.

  • Provide workers compensation advice to stakeholders such as workers, employers and providers
  • Undertake ongoing entitlement reviews in relation to weekly payments and medical expenses
  • Independently manage a portfolio of claims
  • Collaborate with Mobile Claims Specialists, Liability Specialists, Return to Work Specialists and other technical and support experts
  •  Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist the worker and employer with the claim process and providing support in the completion of relevant documents to ensure timely access to required services to support return to work and injury recovery
  • Make decisions regarding the recovery and return to work process
  • Facilitate active participation of the injured worker and their employer in any return to work and recovery planning

 

ABOUT YOU

A strong working relationship between the Case Manager and key stake holders is essential for the success of this role. This role is underpinned on outstanding customer service where the customers experience is a simple and positive one. 

As the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following:

  • Customer Service and/or Office experience
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Negotiation and influencing
  • Empathy and understanding
  • Ability to earn trust in relationships with others by consistently demonstrating integrity and professional competence
  • Effectively listen and understand the needs of the customer and what is important to them to enable their recovery and return to work
  • Competent in the use of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Strong effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the relevant worker’s compensation legislation and regulations
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
