Who we are

Having only opened in October last year, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour welcomes guests into a world of sophistication blending French Art de Vivre and local culture with soaring views over vibrant Darling Harbour. With 590 rooms, three bars, a restaurant, an executive club lounge and a dedicated conferencing floor, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour sets the tone for luxury and exceptional experience.

Our Conferencing floor boasts nine versatile spaces which have been transformed into 380 delegate dinners, 450 delegate cocktail parties, a 280 guest wedding and high profile events including gala dinners, VIP functions, international conferences, retail symposiums and more.

 

The Role

As an experienced manager, you will lead, motivate and drive our team to success as you deliver bespoke events ranging from small board meetings to international corporate events. You will experience a diverse range of opportunities, a dynamic pace and a brand new product, as you play an integral part in setting Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour as the benchmark in luxurious accommodation in the Sydney market. 
Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager and/or Director of Food & Beverage, you will overlook the day to day operation of the outlet with a strong focus on attention to detail, excellent service delivery instilling our service philosophy and managing budgeting, forecasting, payroll and cost control.  

 

Successful profile

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities 
  • Experience in delivering all types of events with a strong focus on guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment, ideally in a luxury/upscale hotel
  • Ability and passion to establish long-term departmental strategic plans and goals for the people and the product
  • Excellent personal presentation and presence, refined communication skills and perfection for the smallest of details
  • Advanced time management skills and able to manage competing priorities 
  • Previous high volume barista experience would be advantageous

Above all else, you will demonstrate your ability to act as a true ambassador for the Sofitel brand as you build relationships and guest experiences epitomising French elegance, style and sophistication.
