  • Permanent part time for immediate start (16 hours per week)
  • Must be available to work Wednesday and Thursday
  • Must have Certificate IV, Associate Diploma or Diploma in commercial cookery or equivalent demonstrated competency.
  • Must have completed HACCP course.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic catering supervisor to run our small but busy kitchen, providing a customer-centred focus with quality and nutritious dining for 35 elderly residents. We want someone with passion and innovation who thrives in a team environment and can lead a small, friendly and efficient catering team. You will be well-supported by a central head office and you will be reporting directly to the manager of residential services.

 

Essential:

The successful applicant will have previous experience in:

  • Managing a busy kitchen
  • Ordering and monitoring of supplies
  • Leading and training staff
  • Previous experience with managing regulatory requirements in Food Safety

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a quality and nutritional food service, which meets the needs and preferences of aged residents.
  • Compliance with a Food Safety Program.
  • Supervision of catering employees.
  • Management of catering budget and stock control.
  • Liaising with regulatory organisations and health professionals.
  • Ensuring that services provided are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Fresh Hope Care.

 

Desirable:

  • Previous catering experience in Aged Care

 

To be successful in your new role you will need to demonstrate:

  • Certificate IV, Associate Diploma or Diploma in commercial cookery or equivalent demonstrated competency.
  • Completion of HACCP course.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service skills
  • A current National Criminal History Record Check suitable for aged care (or willingness to obtain) is essential.

 

Remuneration is based on the current Living Care Enterprise Agreement.

As an additional benefit, there is a tax free component of your remuneration available under the Public Benevolent Institution.
