We are now recruiting our opening team and are looking for a qualified Pastry Chef to join our team.

In July 2018, a new chapter begins with the opening of Emporium Hotel South Bank, where boutique luxury will be elevated to a new level of style, comfort and service. Located in the $600m Southpoint precinct, Emporium Hotel South Bank features 143 luxuriously appointed suites, with in-suite dining, a rooftop restaurant and bar, piano bar, French bistro and patisserie along with the flagship restaurant Opal. As part of our highly skilled Kitchen Team, this is an opportunity to take your career to the next level and work with award-winning Executive Chef Josue Lopez. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and define quality standards for the preparation and presentation of pastry items across all hotel food & beverage outlets;
  • Identify and develop new pastry products and equipment to continually enhance our pastry offering;
  • Ensure the quality of food preparation and presentation, as per hotel standards;
  • Ensure availability of stock and raw ingredients by proper planning and co-ordination with Purchasing;

Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years in a similar role;
  • Great knowledge of patisserie, chocolate and pastry;
  • The ability to work a 7-day roster, including nights and weekends;
  • Strong communication skills and highly developed organisational skills;
  • A willingness to learn and grow and a willingness to go above and beyond to deliver Exquisite Experiences for our guests, every time, every shift!
  • Eligibility to work in Australia;
  • Advantage if you have previous experience in 5 star, Michelin or hatted restaurants.
