About the business and the role
Exchange is a highly regarded café in Adelaide's East End. In our five years of operation, we have garnered a very strong reputation for delivering outstanding food, coffee and hospitality. This is a standard that we aim to continually improve, and has resulted in Exchange being listed as Adelaide's #1 cafe by Lonely Planet.
By utilising seasonal produce, we focus on curating a progressive, creative and constantly evolving menu. We are looking for a skilled, experienced and motivated chef to join our team and help us continue to elevate our food offering.
As a full-time chef, you will work closely with and take direction from our Head Chef, however, you'll also work autonomously and demonstrate a strong desire to improve your skills and knowledge.
Job tasks and responsibilities
You will be required to:
- Collaborate with head chef to plan menus and dishes
- Work well in a fast-paced environment
- Communicate effectively and efficiently
- Be organised and attentive to detail
- Present a professional and composed manner
- Contribute positively to the team dynamic
- Understand food costs, profit and wastage margins
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience ordering stock
- Worked in similar venues
- At least 2-3 years' experience as a chef/cook
- A strong desire to develop professionally
