About the Role:
The chosen candidate will be required to apply their specialist knowledge and skills to deliver, evidence-based and culturally appropriate primary health based experience. They will provide education to their junior colleagues and the local community.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical services to clients
- Consistently apply evidence based practice and specialised knowledge to the delivery of clinical services.
- Plan and deliver primary health education and health promotion to health professionals and community groups.
- Act as a resource and provide leadership that facilitates ongoing development of clinical practice to nurses, doctors and indigenous Health Workers.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience of working within a nurse led primary health clinic
- Extensive primary health nursing experience
- Experience with Chronic Disease management
- Remote experience is essential
- Knowledge and understanding of Health issues and health promotion principles and programmes in a rural, remote and multicultural environment particularly relating to Aboriginal Health
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to apply Primary Health Care Principles to work practice
- Post graduate certificates desirable
Essential Criteria:
- The above clinical experience
- AHPRA registration (no restrictions)
- Right to live and work in Australia
- It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment.
