We have all the usual “must haves” – Great Staff, Great Patient Base, A Supportive Work Environment, A Modern Purpose Built Establishment and Excellent Equipment-including ultrasound and ear suction microscope.
Development of special interests is encouraged and teaching welcomed. MCCC Registrars and Deakin Students are part of our team.
Online appointment bookings with pathology and radiology services ‘virtually’ on site.
VMO credentialing with our local hospital – Colac Area Health
On site allied health and visiting specialist support include – audiology, psychologists, podiatrist, HMR Pharmacist, Health Assessment Nurse, Sleep Services, Paediatrician, Cardiologists, Urologist and Endocrinologist.
On call is minimal compared to the “old days” of rural general practice.
Hospital On Call is currently 1/17 (supervising HMO’s from Barwon Health and internal on call is 1/7). Internal on call is merely phone triage and nursing homes prn. Hospital on call is well remunerated.
Rosters are done well in advance for lifestyle planning.
All remuneration is a % of receipts. GP’s are also eligible for future GPRIP at 100%. On Call Allowances are paid at 100%
6 weeks annual leave per annum is expected.
Regular train services - Warrnambool to Melbourne line.
Some staff regularly commute by car from Geelong.
