Spiritual Care Practitioner, Locum Position – Hospital Setting within Monash Health

A rare opportunity is available for experienced spiritual care practitioners to register for our locum bank.
As a member of a small but dynamic team, you will be providing casual clinical spiritual care both within a multidisciplinary and multi-faith setting. Your role will be that of supporting the spiritual and emotional well-being of our patients, their families, visitors and hospital staff.
The position will suit someone who is resourceful in responding to clients’ spiritual or religious needs. You must be a skilled communicator, sensitive listener, and respectful of other cultures, beliefs or spiritual orientation. Computer competence including word-processing skills are mandatory, as is experience of liaison work with hospital staff across wards and health care disciplines in order to provide the most appropriate spiritual care to patients and their families. As this is a locum role you may be required to work at any Monash Health location.
About you
- Successful applicants will have completed at least one - preferably 2 Clinical Pastoral Education Units – or equivalent, obtained a theological/religious studies tertiary qualification and have a personal commitment to spiritual development.
- Highly recommended is previous experience of providing pastoral/spiritual care in a hospital setting.
