Here’s an opportunity for you to contribute to the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supporting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in Victoria.
VACCHO is the peak body for Aboriginal health in Victoria and champions community control and health equality for Aboriginal communities. We are a centre of expertise, policy advice, training, innovation and leadership in Aboriginal health. VACCHO advocates for the health equality
and health and wellbeing of all Aboriginal people in Victoria.
Working within The VACCHO Policy and Advocacy team, this role facilitates and undertakes activities to support VACCHO’s work with its member Aboriginal community-controlled organisations across Victoria as they learn about and start to engage with the NDIS. This role has immense scope for skills development and growth within a new sector.
You may be wondering what the NDIS Transition Support Officer does. Well some days you will be assisting in research and the development of templates, other days you will be on the ground assisting with training and working together with our members.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the lives of Aboriginal people in Victoria, who possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and robust engagement skills. People with a background in operations, service delivery, or accreditation would be well-suited for this role. Knowledge of the disability sector is a plus!
