About the role


The Disability Trust has a dynamic team of Allied Health staff providing Trusted Clinical Services to NDIS participants including Behaviour Support Practitioners.  We are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing team. If you are passionate about achieving great outcomes for people with disability the Behaviour Support Practitioner is a great opportunity for you to join our Trusted Clinical Services Team. The Behaviour Support Practitioner role is to work within a framework of positive behaviour support to design, deliver, monitor and evaluate behaviour support services to children, young people and adults with a disability.

What you will require to succeed in this role, essential criteria: 

  • Diploma, or higher, qualification in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Current knowledge of the issues, trends and philosophies underpinning the  provision of services to people with disabilities, their families and carers.
  • Ability to support employees and/or families in agreed behaviour support strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing behaviour support services to people with disabilities 
  • Demonstrated experience in providing services to people with disability with a range
  • High level oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Sound knowledge and ability to apply EEO and WH&S principles in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Ability to apply legal, ethical, policy and procedural guidelines within the context of service provision to people with disabilities.
  • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary/ trans-disciplinary approach and work collaboratively in partnership with all stakeholders.
  • Willingness to do some travelling to our regional sites.
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • A cleared Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current National Criminal History Check (cleared within the last 12 months).
