Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Emergency Position Summary Associate Nurse Unit Manager Emergency Department / Short Stay Unit Maroondah Hospital, Ringwood East Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs. Eastern Health operates from many different locations; our largest sites include Angliss Hospital, Box Hill Hospital, Healesville and District Hospital, Maroondah Hospital, Peter James Centre, Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, Wantirna Health, Yarra Ranges Health, Yarra Valley Community Health. Maroondah Hospital Emergency Department is looking for Associate Nurse Unit Managers with strong leadership skills and a passion for Emergency nursing to join our team. Maroondah ED cares for approximately 60,000 patients per year, averaging 165 presentations per day. We provide both Adult and Paediatric Emergency Services and have a dedicated emergency paediatric area as well as Paediatric Short Stay beds. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for delivering exceptional nursing care in an emergency setting supported by post graduate qualifications in Emergency/Critical Care Nursing. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager must know the KPIs relevant to the Emergency Department and be able to work closely with the Nursing and Medical Leadership teams to influence and achieve these, whilst maintaining a clear focus on the high quality patient and family experience we strive for. In addition the Associate Nurse Unit Manager role requires current advanced clinical skills and previous experience in leading teams. To be successful in this role you must possess: Required Current AHPRA registration Post graduate qualifications in Emergency/Critical Care Nursing Minimum 3 years post graduate experience in an Emergency/Critical Care Setting. Demonstrated experience in leading and developing others Advanced clinical skills in Adult Emergency/Critical Care Nursing Experience in Paediatric Emergency and/or Paediatric Nursing Current Working with Children Check Highly developed interpersonal, communication and networking skills Demonstrated abilities in an operational leadership and/or management Well-developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills Commitment to exceptional patient and family experience service delivery Proficient computer literacy Desirable Advanced Clinical Skills in Paediatric Nursing Previous ANUM role/ Shift Coordinator experience Management and Leadership qualification or working towards same Experience in Quality Improvement/Service Improvement methodology Eastern Health offers a variety of fantastic Employee Benefits, view the extensive range here!
