Where you'll be working: You will be joining a multidisciplinary team within the Bankstown Infant Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS). ICAMHS specialises in mental health services for children and adolescent aged between 2-17 years and their families/carers. As an ICAMHS Mental Health Professional you will provide assessment and treatment to consumers with moderate-severe mental health problems and you will work within an evidence-based and culturally appropriate framework. Collaboration with key stakeholders and consumer’s families/carers is essential. The position is available 0.8FTE or four days a week. What you'll be doing The Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers’ recovery plans. The role is also responsible for non-clinical tasks including participation in quality improvement activities, clinical supervision and participation in administrative responsibilities as required. Selection Criteria: Demonstrated experience in providing evidence based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment for consumers of the mental health service. Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and practice of consumer’s families and natural supports participating within the treatment process, as appropriate and in accordance with the NSW Mental Health Act 2007. Effective interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and personal resilience. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems. Ability to work independently and in consultation with the multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality improvement process. Demonstrated ability and experience in providing evidence based individual and family assessment and intervention with children and adolescents who have mental health issues, including their families. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in crisis/risk management of children and/or adolescents with mental health issues. Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate clinical records and activity; both written and computer based. Need more information?
