Orderly - Theatre

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Orderly to join our theatre team. The Friendlies currently consists of a 5 theatre complex with plans to extend in the future. Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a willingness to develop a working knowledge of the equipment, and be a motivated, positive individual with a high level of attention to detail.

Day to day duties for this role will include (but not be limited to):

• Working with and assisting clinical staff
• Ensuring theatres are set up for surgical procedures and equipment has been checked
• Restocking facilities and supplies where required
• Transporting of patients to and from the operating theatres

The Person

Key Selection Criteria for this position includes:

• Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent
• Previous work experience in a similar role within a health or aged care facility.
• Ability to provide quality care to the patient whilst preserving dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
• Working knowledge and demonstrated compliance with Infection Control guidelines and practices.
• Ability to set up and safely use the various medical equipment required of this position

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements

It is a mandatory condition of employment for this role for you are vaccinated, and remain during your employment, against the following vaccine preventable diseases:

• Measles
• Mumps
• Rubella
• Varicella (Chicken Pox)
• Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
• Hepatitis B

Existing staff that were employed prior to 1 July 2017 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements.
