The Role…

Based at Nudgee, you’ll be responsible for providing occupational therapy services that enable residents/clients to function as independently as possible and achieve an improved quality of life. In a nutshell you'll:

  • Work within the model of care consistent with the philosophy, mission and values of Mercy Community.
  • Assess, plan, supervise and/or implement occupational therapy care for residents in all facilities within the guidelines set out by Occupational Therapy Australia. This includes initial assessments, care plan development and ongoing review as required.
  • Provide occupational therapy services to community clients on a referral basis.
  • Ensure employees are aware of and understand the occupational therapy needs of individual residents/clients, as per the care plan.
  • Liaise and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure resident/client health needs are met, including the provision of specialised procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of programs that engage the broader community.

About You…

  • Bachelor in Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel.
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence.
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required.
  • Relevant Post Graduate qualifications (Beneficial but not essential).
  • Experience in Aged Care industry (Beneficial but not essential).
  • Experience in clinical education or staff training (Beneficial but not essential).
