About the role:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse Grade 4 to join our team at our new state of the art ‘Star of the Sea’ Aged Care residence in Torquay!
The Registered Nurse Grade 4 is responsible for the coordination and provision of high standards of care to residents and their families while promoting a person centred approach to care.
The model of care at ‘Star of the Sea’ is based on the Montessori principles which aim to provide meaningful activities that have a purpose, focussed on the resident’s capabilities and interests whilst enhancing self-esteem and showing respect.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive and systematic nursing assessments for all residents to collect data about the physical, socio-cultural and mental health of the resident
- Determine health needs, identify health outcomes and document care plans for residents in consultation with residents, family members and health care teams
- Ensure residents have accurate, up to date care plans based on their needs
- Ensure care is provided in a manner consistent with the Montessori principles
You will have:
- Registered Nurse qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)
- An understanding and ability to ensure compliance with residential Aged Care Standards, ACFI requirements, Occupational Health and Safety, food safety and other professional legislative requirements which affect the provision of care and services to residents
- Demonstrated ability to lead, support and supervise staff and to promote a team approach in the workplace
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to promote a positive work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the Montessori principles of care
