The Role
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and patient-care centred Registered Nurse/Midwife to join the Maternity Services team as an innovative leader for the Special Care Nursery. With a strong focus for safety, quality and excellence in patient care, the leadership role will be integral to the growth of our services in collaboration with our medical and midwifery team. Our maternity unit comprises of 4 birthing suites, 31 ward beds and a 4 cot special care nursery for babies greater than 32 weeks.
Skills & Experience
Essential key areas of focus for this role include:
- Recent leadership and clinical experience in Special Care Nursery/Neonatal Intensive Care
- Ensuring patient flow is managed whilst providing high standards of patient care
- Role model empathy to patients, families and medical consultants
- Postnatal and/or lactation support experience
- Contemporary knowledge of best practice in newborn nursing care
- Highly accountable and demonstrate a supportive and inclusive style
- Passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
- Highly motivated to learn and willing to undertake continuing education and grow professionally
- Possessing current midwifery and/or nursing registration with AHPRA
- A relevant post-graduate certificate (highly desirable)
