About Us

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is a statutory authority that acts as a system authority for all public transport and an advocate for public transport users. We are a single contact point for customers wanting information on public transport services, fares, tickets and initiatives. PTV aims to improve public transport in Victoria by ensuring better coordination between modes, facilitating expansions to the network, auditing public transport assets, promoting public transport as an alternative to the car.

About the role

You will lead the review and development of timetables across multiple modes for approved and proposed network service changes. The Senior Timetable Development Analyst works closely with network planners and operators to develop and finalise timetable changes. You will also provide support to all impacted work streams across PTV, TfV and operators including contract management, customer services, communications, marketing and infrastructure.

What we're looking for

Essential (must have to be considered for the position)

• High level ability to review draft timetables prepared by operators including the ability to propose appropriate refinements and ensure finalised timetable adhere to service specification.
• Good ability to undertake reviews of transport operational performance in relation to timetable coordination, network legibility, capacity utilisation, service frequency and journey times.
• Demonstrated capacity to influence the development of network service specifications including detailed reviews of proposed service changes and assessment for budget compliance.
• Well-developed understanding of transport planning principals and operational planning.
• Demonstrated high level understanding of customer demands in relation to public transport networks and timetables.
• Sound knowledge of key public transport issues, including in a Government setting, and the ability to provide strategic advice on transport services and multi-modal coordination.

Qualification

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in related field and/or extensive industry experience is mandatory.
