Our client is seeking a Planning Officer - Development and Assessment for the Gympie region. This opportunity is a 38 hour week working across five days. Remuneration of $29.29 per hour including casual loading. 

Essential:

• Demonstrated ability to interpret statutory requirements 
• Must have degree or post-graduate degree in planning recognised for corporate membership by the Planning Institute of Australia
• Demonstrated ability to resolve complex planning issues to achieve outcomes in the public interest
• Demonstrated experience of statutory planning or development assessment within the public or private sectors
• Knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to development assessment within Queensland
• Knowledge of the role of local government and its service functions
• High level written communication skills
• Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
• Computer literacy

Desirable:

• Previous Queensland local government experience will be highly regarded
