About the Role
The Nurse Unit Manager is a senior level clinical manager, accountable at an advanced practice level for the coordination of clinical practice, nursing leadership and the provision of human and material resources within Longreach Hospital. The Nurse Unit Manager provides leadership and direction to other nursing staff and is responsible for implementing plans related to safe; consumer focused clinical care, professional development of staff and financial accountability. The nurse unit manager will demonstrate the following:

Advanced level of autonomous clinical and professional practice.

Advanced level of decision making in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

Undertake operational leadership.

Work collectively to apply the principles of clinical governance.

Apply professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and midwifery and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.

Responsible for enacting strategies that supports a work-based culture that promotes and supports education, learning, research, and workforce development.
This position may be required to act in the Director of Nursing position on occasions.
Salary Information:
The total remuneration value of up to $133,535 p.a., is comprised of: salary between $107,804 - $117,037 p.a., (Nurse Grade 7); employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%); annual leave loading (17.5%); Permanent Full Time; Applications will remain current for 12 months.
