Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS 6 Recruitment, Performance and Employment Conditions Adviser to fulfill a contract of up to 6 months, commencing as soon as possible.

The role would be a part of a team which is fast paced and complex, as well as interesting and rewarding.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for the role would include the below:

Recruitment Adviser
  • Day-to-day management of team workload and performance, including team development and compliance with People Branch service standards and targets.
  • Quality assure team outputs, including final review and approval of job advertisements, Onboarding Requests in eRecruit, Letters of Offer, APSJobs gazettals and the weekly Current Vacancies email.
  • Respond to complex queries, issues and complaints and escalate as required.
  • Engage with Departmental stakeholders to provide recruitment consultant services for EL & APS level processes.
  • Systems maintenance of eRecruit and Talent Central.
  • Send monthly reminder to delegates of Merit List’s expiring.

Performance
  • Contribution to and development of performance management strategies.
  • Developing communication material on performance management (to staff and the Executive).
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex projects.
  • Analysing performance data.
  • Build strong relationships with Departmental stakeholders to provide learning and development advice.

Conditions
  • Partnering with the Department to provide employment conditions advice, support and solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage complex projects.
  • Liaising with the Senior Executive Service (SES) Unit to support specialised and high quality advice and services.
  • You will have an excellent understanding of the Fair Work Act framework, relevant state legislation and be comfortable interpreting and providing advice on complex industrial instruments.

  
Desirables
  • Recruitment experience (government) OR Performance Management experience OR Employment Conditions experience
  • An understanding (knowledge) of the legislative framework that underpins HR
  • Sound judgement
  • Coordination skills
  • Flexible and able to deal with changing priorities and timeframes
  • Ability to work autonomously on multiple tasks
  • Stakeholder engagement experience
