ROLE
Operating from within Agri-Science Queensland, you will be involved in implementation and delivery of the Grains BMP program to producers throughout the central Queensland and Burnett regions as a means of establishing industry benchmarks and driving improvements in farming practices. This will involve delivery of a workshop program to producers in collaboration with partner organsiations and other team members as well as coordinating technical training activities for producers. You will contribute to the broader planning processes for the Grains BMP program as well as ensuring the accuracy of data collected as a result of project activities. You will use a range of communication approaches to promote the benefits of best practice to grain growers and provide technical support to these growers in implementing changes in their farming practices.
 
REQUIREMENTS
To determine your suitability for the role, you will be assessed on the following key capabilities for this role:
 

  • A degree from a recognised tertiary institution in Agricultural Science, Applied Science, Agronomy, or equivalent academic qualifications, with skills in broadacre crop agronomy and extension process. 
  • Applicants must hold a current Drivers’ License.
  • Applies relevant broadacre subtropical farming systems technical knowledge, and skills in modern extension processes, to the planning and delivery of learning processes 
  • Displays high level communication and interpersonal skills, relates well to people at all levels (within and outside the organisation), uses diplomacy and tact, uses sound judgment on sensitive and confidential issues, builds constructive and effective relationships 
  • Establishes priorities and organises work flow to meet strict deadlines and produce quality outcomes 
  • Encourages collaboration with peers to solve problems and is seen as a team player and cooperative 
  • Applies rigorous process and logic to solve difficult problems and find effective solutions 

 
LOCATION & REMUNERATION
The position will be based out of Biloela or Emerald by negotiation with the successful applicant Salary range $78,748 - $ 86,001
