  • Permanent role with a base salary starting from $61,658
  • Role is located in Upper Hunter Valley, NSW

About the Role
The Field Environmental Officer undertakes a combination of structured training and work activities to gain experience in project management and working within civil works and environmental construction site teams. The role learns the work methods of their team and may be trained to use machinery ranging from hand tools to heavy plant to work on a range of environmental and civil construction projects.

To be successful in the role, you will need to have;

  • Previous experience in or willingness to learn civil and environmental works project management principles and the operation of earth moving and associated machinery
  • A willingness to learn/obtain competencies required to complete civil and environmental works safely – for example first aid training, Agricultural chemical handling or 4WD training
  • A desire to be an active member of a team involved in all aspects of Soil Conservation Service works including, but not limited to, conservation earthworks, stream stabilisation works and riparian ecosystem management
  • A current Manual Class C drivers licence and willingness to travel and work away from base location

The Soil Conservation Service (SCS) is a commercial entity within Local Land Services (LLS). The Soil Conservation Service is an environmental consulting and soil conservation business specialising in land rehabilitation, erosion control, project management and resource protection. We offer a complete range of professional and technical services in environmental restoration, erosion and sediment control, soil and water testing, land assessment, farm water supply, rehabilitation and re-vegetation techniques.
