About the role
We are looking for a reliable Electrical Installation and Commissioning Manager for a 9-month contract to work on a complex and exciting electrical engineering project in Brisbane.
The successful candidate will plan, coordinate and supervise the installation and commissioning of equipment. You will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of Installation & Commissioning personnel and organise and manage all activities on site for the project, including but not limited to Electrical works and infrastructure installations.
You will support the Project Manager ensuring application of the project and Company strategy, policies, standards, local regulations and professional standards and will be responsible to oversee the progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Key responsibilities involve:
- Plan, coordinate and supervise Installation and Commissioning activities either together with personnel from any of our subsidiaries, acting as Electrical Installation Manager and Team Leader of the local installation team;
- Assist in project related documentation and preparation of work method statements, as well as to prepare and maintain appropriate documentation for on-site works;
- Act as the interface with the customer and relevant stakeholders to guarantee access to site for the installation and testing crews on time and according to the project and company safety standards;
- Oversee all onsite and offsite electrical installation and commissioning to monitor compliance with require project safety regulations and technical requirements;
- Ensure all relevant standards and specifications are adhered to in relation to Quality, OH&S Engineering for Electrical;
- Support the Project Managers and other Team leaders with electrical sub-contractor’s supervision, documentation, and interfacing with the customer;
- Action and rectify faults in equipment, programs, parameters and specifications;
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of issues, solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
- Maintain integrity in accordance with the client's requirements, a very high level of customer' satisfaction and the best possible results for the Company;
- Analyse, manage and mitigate risk; and
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper electrical installation and commissioning and testing techniques.
Requirements
- Formal qualification in an Engineering discipline, electrical is preferred but not mandatory;
- Proven working experience in electrical installation and commissioning management with a minimum 5 years in high reliability systems such as transportation or communications systems, or related field;
- In depth knowledge of electrical and commissioning management processes, means and methods;
- Expert knowledge of relevant rules, regulations and quality standards in the electrical and general construction fields;
- Understanding of all facets of the installation and commissioning processes;
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, positive leadership traits as well as strong problem solving skills for conflict and crisis management;
- Experience in the engineering and infrastructure space would be an advantage
