Overview

Newcrest is Australia’s leading gold miner and an ASX listed company. We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Group IT and Digital team during an exciting period of growth. Reporting to the Manager IT Digital, you will work in collaboration with site and group functions to project manage the delivery of small to medium sized mobility solutions to achieve delivering safety, cash, productivity outcomes.

With an understanding of change management your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the successful delivery of mobile projects and related benefits.
• Driving the uptake of mobile technologies (including wearables) at site.
• Providing support for mobile applications.
• Ensure the effective transition of mobile services into production environments.

• Delivery of mobile related projects using agile/rapid approaches.

• Management of project resources and vendors to meet defined goals as defined in the Business Case and Project Management Plan.
• Identification and effective management of Stakeholders throughout the project, ensuring tight alignment to the agreed business benefits and IT standards.
• Contribute to the delivery of productivity improvements at site, with a target of >25,000 hours annually.
• Contribute to the achievement of Digital Performance Office target of >$50m annually.

As a leader within the Digital team you will contribute broadly towards Newcrest’s Digital Transformation initiatives that improve safety and drive free cash flow.

About you

Ideally you will have project management experience in site or group based roles, with an appreciation of the needs of maintenance, process or mining teams. If you do come from a site background, this could be your chance to broaden your project management experience in a Group role with our Digital team.

With an owner’s mindset, you will make recommendations that are cost efficient and tailored to the needs of your customers. You will be highly organised, able to manage an evolving portfolio of work. You will be respected by your peers for your excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, and for your understanding of how technology can be used to drive business performance. You will have a solutions oriented approach with highly developed problem-solving skills. With relevant tertiary qualifications, you will bring a sense of excitement and energy to the delivery of technology and digital based applications and solutions using waterfall and agile methods.
