Our client is a leading medical device manufacturer based in North-West Sydney.  In line with their continuing business expansion, they are now seeking to employ another Production Planner/Demand Planner. 
  
ROLE

This is a full time, permanent role whose key responsibility is to efficiently plan production based on accurate estimation of productive capacity of available resources and knowledge of future demands, and ensuring the smooth flow of processes in manufacturing within set schedule to meet customers' requirements.

Specific duties include:     

• Liaising with Suppliers and various departments internally including Sales, Procurement, Accounts, Production, etc.
• Planning and preparing production schedules for all commercial products
• Establishing sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates based on sales forecasts or customer orders
• Analyzing productions specs and plant capacity data and performing mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resources requirements
• Planing and scheduling the workflow for each Department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
• Planning sequence of production, assembly, processing, and other manufacturing operations with the Production Manager
• Conferring with Department Supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects
• Expediting operations that delay schedules and modifying schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
• Preparing production reports, including list of required materials, tools and equipment
• Preparing purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Tertiary qualification in industrial engineering, production planning
• Minimum 3 years' experience in high volume production planning, ideally within the medical device manufacturing environment or related industry
• Proficiency with statistical and forecasting fundamentals, as well as with planning software systems, including MS Project
• Excellent organizational and English communication skills
• Ability to work independently, with high attention to details, and strong analytical skills
