World-Class Rail Organisation requires an experienced Technical Electrical Systems Specialist to work for an electrical isolation improvement program.

Duties:

• Provide technical engineering advice on Routine Maintenance, Major Periodic Maintenance and Construction Works conducted on the Electrical network to ensure the work is completed according to plan, meets technical, quality, verification and validation standards.
• Plan and coordinate the training of electrical discipline staff in existing and new technologies, equipment and work methods, to ensure their competence to fulfil inspection, testing and commissioning activities.
• Manage and facilitate the delivery of effective and efficient inspection, testing and commissioning activities for electrical works.
• Review and approve inspection, testing and commissioning plans for compliance to verification and validation process, standards, quality and agreed project scope.
• Monitor, evaluate and mentor the Inspection, Test & Commission Project Delivery Team’s performance by conducting regular reviews against relevant indicators, identifying and providing direction on implementing problem solving measures and recovery plans.
• Propose reliable, safe and efficient construction solutions to achieve agreed design commitments and objectives.
• Review contractors' inspection and test plans, programs and packages before approving them for use to ensure they are safe and appropriate.

Qualifications:

• To be an "Authorised Operator" (refer SMS-11-GD-0244) and/or actively pursuing the "Authorised Officer (Substations)" or "Authorised Officer (Mains)" personnel certification.
• Detailed knowledge and demonstrated experience in the application of Electrical Construction Standards and Specifications.
• Extensive experience in electrical maintenance and construction works, including test, inspection and commissioning processes.
• Superior knowledge and understanding of rail operations to enable the production and implementation of electrical test, inspection and commissioning plans.
• Extensive construction or maintenance experience in the rail environment.
• Demonstrated experience in testing and /or commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and manage staff.
