Boeing Defence Australia is looking for a Senior Test Engineer based in Brisbane or Williamtown with extensive experience in flight testing and mission system testing.
The Wedgetail AIR5077 Phase 5A Program will ensure continued compliance and interoperability of the AEW&C System with Australian Defence Forces (ADF) and Multi National Forces.
Phase 5A will develop hardware and software modifications to the Wedgetail system to ensure these military and civilian airspace compliance requirements are met.
As the Phase 5A Senior Test Engineer you will be located within the Systems Engineering IPT and will provide technical support for engineering test activities related to the upgrade of the Wedgetail Mission Systems.
Responsibilities will include:
- Test, Verification and Certification activities, across the engineering lifecycle, to deliver quality products to the Customer.
- Test Planning and Execution of activities, in accordance with plans & processes, to successfully deliver project outcomes.
- Execution of Flight tests, ground tests and lab testing.
- Engaging effectively with other team members, including providing mentoring and leadership.
- Management of complex stakeholder networks.
To be successful you will have:
- Experience executing and planning flight testing, ground testing other test activities on airborne or ground assets.
- Extensive knowledge of mission systems, software testing and systems engineering.
- Tertiary degree qualification in a relevant technical discipline and 7 years defence aviation engineering experience or civilian aviation experience.
- Excellent communication skills that enable the applicant to influence outcomes in a group environment and a strong work ethic and ability to solve complex problems.
Highly desirable skills include:
- Experience in the planning and executing certification test programs for complex changes.
- Demonstrated experience in compliance demonstration and verification activities.
