FULL-TIME Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer
Stark Engineering Consulting Pty Ltd has been operating since 2011 in the power and water industry. We engage in long-term operation and maintenance contracts in renewable energy as well as consulting and engineering of bespoke solutions in water, process and control systems.
We are a small engineering firm with solid long-term commitments and steady growth. Our team performs a variety of job roles such as project management, detailed design and engineering, consulting, on-site installation supervision and commissioning and providing technical services for operations and maintenance. We firmly believe that hands-on experience makes us better engineers.
As our lead electrical engineer, your role will be two-fold. Firstly you will be working closely with our customers in providing support to their operation and maintenance of their renewable energy plants. This involves both ad-hoc technical support and routine services. Secondly, you will also play a pivotal role managing the electrical and instrumentation component of our engineering projects.
Our ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Experience
- Power generation with HV and LV generators up to 5 MVA
- Electrical engineering design for balance of plant, LV switchboards and control panels: electrical, control and SCADA system conceptual design, engineering design, detailed design, equipment selection and preparation of technical specifications
- Gas hazardous area experience
- Troubleshooting and working with PLC, HMI and SCADA technologies
- Commissioning, testing and site inspections for electrical and instrumentation systems
- Consulting and advisory roles
Skills
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering, CPEng is a plus
- Working knowledge of electrical generator protection design and testing and earthing system design
- You are comfortable with producing technical documents, such as functional and technical specifications, and control schematics to our clients’ standard
- You have a good understanding of AUTOCAD, preferably AutoCAD Electrical and can produce electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams and schematics
- Knowledgeable in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens), SCADA, ethernet, M2M systems and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Devicenet etc.
- You have excellent report writing skills and an eye for detail and are proficient in the use of MS Office
- You have a knowledge of process and instrumentation as well as mechanical design
