Position Title: Specifications Engineer
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the State Sales Manager NSW, you will be responsible for increasing the specification of products by utilising excellent communication, presentation and technical skills. You will assist with the formulation of both specification and sales strategies that will lead the business growth in the Construction sectors - Concrete Structural Walling Systems focus.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and implements a systematic approach to assigned design engineers, architects, government agencies and statutory boards to successfully sell technical specifications of the Dincel’s product lines
- Identifies opportunities on assigned consultants and/or projects, including specifications, new applications, key trades, and implements a tracking system to ensure maximum penetration. Communicates regularly with State Manager and Sales team to ensure information is shared and coordinated
- Have the necessary background to provide concept structural engineering designs in order to show the cost and time saving benefits of using Dincel product as a structural system within a building as required
- Provides technical support and advice to the sales team on the entire available product line, unless otherwise stipulated by management, consistent with the company's objectives and marketing strategy. This would include application problems, job-site attendance, product performance and liability, customer complaints, etc.
- Identifies, develops and provides technical assistance for new applications, new construction trends or methods and business potential to State Manager and sales team, including from a technical standpoint, competitive and market research, special projects, new product or applications introductions, job-site data, etc.
- Organises and maintains a thorough and systematic record keeping system through ERP / CRM
- Communicate on technical matters with design engineers, customers, government bodies, and others, and discuss product applications, ensuring that all information is accurate and that the company is protected against any liabilities.
- Have a sound working knowledge of local construction methods and any regulations that apply.
- Support the company Quality management by thoroughly investigating any reported on-site issues involving the Companies Structural Walling product and compile detailed reports as required.
- Attend any monthly sales Meetings to provide technical training to the sales team, answer any technical questions and discuss actions on Key Projects.
- Participate in any special projects or assignments that may be required, as directed by State Manager or MD
SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB:
- Preferable minimum 5 years design experience with concrete structures within NSW.
- Customer oriented with a passion for developing technical solutions, services & brand.
- Well-developed ability to work with others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The person will be required to communicate with developers, builders, architects and engineers.
- Analytical, result oriented, pro-active and able to get things done.
- Occasional inter-state travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor degree, minimum in Civil or Structural engineering.
A salary package between $85,000 - $90,000 is on offer and will suit someone living in Western Sydney.
