About the business
Located in the Sydney CBD, we are a boutique engineering consultancy practice who specialise in the design and engineering of building facades. We are currently providing façade design and engineering services for some of the largest and most prominent developments in Sydney.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, intermediate level structural engineer, who may has an interest in façade engineering or complex structures. We require an engineer with a sound background in structural engineering fundamentals, who can apply this experience to the field of facades and design.

The successful candidate must be passionate about engineering, and would ideally have an interest in facades and architecture. Within this role, you will be provided with one-to-one support, training and development from our Principal Engineers and Designers.
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate must have the following attributes:
- A strong desire to learn and develop;
- A relevant engineering degree;
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a structural engineer;
- Sound experience with undertaking structural analysis and preparation of formal calculations;
- An eye for detail and experienced in carefully checking their work and reviewing the work of others;
- Show a creative flair and passion for design, engineering and problem solving;
- Be comfortable and confident expressing and communicating your advice to clients and other engineers/designers;
- Able to work independently with some supervision, and also lead younger team members in engineering analyses.
- Be experienced with the review of contractor submissions, such as shop drawings and calculations;
- Be familiar with relevant Australian Standards related to structural engineering, in particular AS1170, AS3600 and AS4100.
- Be experienced with some or all of the following software tools: Strand 7 (or other finite element analysis software such as Space Gass or Microstran) / AutoCAD / Trimble SketchUp / Microsoft Office.
