The Role
AECOM is seeking an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Cost management team in Sydney as a Senior Civil Cost Estimator. The primary responsibility of the role is to provide cost estimating support on varied construction projects. Our clients are from both the public and private sector, delivering a wide range of civil infrastructure projects. Our Cost Management business provides proactive cost consulting services. We have a growing civil and infrastructure cost estimating capability that both supports AECOM’s internal groups and also provides Clients with the all-important answer to their question “How much will my project cost?
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provision of cost estimates for civil engineering projects
- Preparation of quantities from a range of drawings with varying levels of detail
- Cost advice at all stages of the design process
- Post-Contract cost management services
- Recognising that safety is a priority and the need to operate with high standards of integrity
- Preparation and evaluation of Risk Registers
About You
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience as a civil cost estimator / quantity surveyor
- Relevant tertiary qualification; along with Professional accreditation such as membership of the AIQS, RICS or equivalent (Preferable but not essential)
- The ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external clients
- Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for quality of deliverables and meeting deadlines
- Knowledge and experience of Cost Estimating and Quantity Surveying software such as: Cost X, Expert Estimation, @Risk, P6 etc.
